Countryside Bike Tour from Amsterdam: a Windmill and Dutch Cheese

We had an amazing time on this bike tour. It was so fun to escape the city for a little while and explore the supreme bike paths around Amsterdam. Our guide Rafa was knowledgable and passionate about the history of the surroundings.

We thoroughly enjoyed our long bike tour. It was so refreshing to get out and explore the countryside. We are a biking family and were blown away with the bike infrastructure they have in the Netherlands, it was so fun to experience. I know each tour is a little different with stops and whats available, but we loved our stop at Zaanse Schans and our boys were excited to purchase some wooden clogs. The other highlight was a tour of a windmill and learning how they work. Shakira did a great job of navigating our group, helping out when needed, and still keeping a good pace so we could see a lot of things. We went the end of March and lucked out with good weather. It was still a little chilly, so if you go on a cooler day I'd recommend a beanie and gloves. All in all this was definitely a highlight of our trip and one will remember for a long time. I highly recommend, you don't want to miss out on this one!! Also for the Americans that struggle with finding bathrooms, they do have one available for use before your tour which is a HUGE plus in my book.
