Join our guided countryside bike tour & explore the beautiful Dutch countryside of Waterland, north of Amsterdam. The tour include stories & photo opportunities along the way. Our guide will take you on a scenic route along the North Holland Canal, passing a windmill & charming Dutch landscapes. Don't miss this bike tour. We offer two options for this tour. A Long tour with E-bikes or a Short tour with normal bikes! Both tours are for experienced and fit cyclists only! A. Long tour on E-bikes: Visit a traditional Dutch cheese farm to see Gouda cheese & wooden shoe making at a clog make workshop. The route is covering 37km/23 miles. This tour requires a minimum height of 5' 1" feet (155 cm) to ride our pedal assisted E-Bikes. We cycle at 18/20 km per hour. B. Short tour on normal bikes: Covering 23km/14 miles through charming villages like Zunderdorp & Ransdorp. See a windmill and wildlife of the lowlands. Taste some farmhouse cheeses. There is no clog workshop visit on this tour

  • Minimum age is 12 years! - anyone under 12 will not be allowed to join the tour, and no refund will be issued.
  • For the E-bikes the minimum height is 155 cm or 5' 1" - anyone under this height will not be permitted to join the tour
  • Arrive 15 mins before the start of the tour at the meeting point! We will not wait longer than 5 minutes after the official starting time.
  • All participants must be able to ride a bike confidently on their own. Mike's Bike Tours will remove anyone from the tour who poses a danger to themselves or others, and no refund will be given.
  • Mike's Tours Amsterdam and/or its owner(s) are not liable for damages or injuries of any kind incurred by participants or by third parties during any of Mike's Tours Amsterdam's activities.
  • Lunch is not included. Feel free to pack a lunch and bring something to snack along the route or out at the cheese farm (long tour only) because while the farmer has cheese to eat the wooden shoes are not fun to nibble on unless you are a chipmunk.

We embarked on an guided bike tour through the countryside, an experience that was nothing short of beautiful . We crossed a ferry like locals with our bicycles, pedaling along scenic bike paths that often share the road with local vehicles. The charming towns we passed through looked straight out of a storybook. A highlight of our ride was stopping at a farmers' market, where we enjoyed local fresh produce and some delicious fruit. Not a bike helmet in sight! Our tour guide Sebastian was brilliant. Very knowledgeable and very easy to understand. His English is perfect. We highly recommend this tour

We had such a great experience! The weather was a tad cloudy and chilly, but they had ponchos if you needed them, at no charge. They also had paneers, which I think were no charge. I saw a few people with them. Our guide Huw (pronounced like Hugh, or Hue) was FANTASTIC! He was very knowledgeable of the history of the area and was super friendly, talking with whomever wanted his attention. He also was conscientious, making sure everyone was safe, by providing a seasoned cyclist at the rear of the line and also frequently pausing to look back to check on everyone. I must say this excursion was the highlight of our trip to Amsterdam (well, along with a small group canal tour). When we stopped we also asked Huw for recommendations of pubs and restaurants in the area. One place was walking distance from there drop-off, and they had THE BEST FRITES of all the places that only sell frites! (Hannekes Boom, which sells way more than just frites!) We loved some of the places we saw so much that the next day we took a bus to the town of Monnickendam to watch the clock go around at noon, and to have a bite of food along with a pint! I highly recommend this tour company!
