Discover the lightened sculptures from a variety of artists while floating through the canals. Bring your friends, family or children to this amazing light festival boat tour and explore together the artistic light objects and their meanings. Our captain which is also the guide will know the history of the art objects as well as key facts of the artist. The private boat is one of a few which has the floating monument status in Amsterdam. Due to its historic character, built in 1912, earlier serving as a passenger transport boat between East and West Germany, this boat has unique history. Unlike other boat tours, this tour includes a welcome drink and has an intimate setting with your own group up to 8 people. I cannot recommend this private boat tour enough. The boat is very comfortable and was lovely and warm, so if it’s a cold day you can still enjoy this tour. The owners have thought of everything including installing glass that does not fog up when they restored the boat. There is something magical about being in a small boat at night with a glass of fizz soaking in the beauty of Amsterdam. You can only really appreciate some of the light installations from the water. Our host was charming and extremely knowledgeable on the various light installations and the artist’s inspiration behind each piece. Even if the light show is not on I would come back and do another tour. Booking was easy and the commutations with the owner was extremely responsive and helpful who arranged a different pick up point nearer to our hotel. I spent time choosing a private boat tour and am so pleased I chose this one. It had been one of the highlights of our trip.
