Singel, Amsterdam, The Netherlands The Singel is a canal in Amsterdam which encircled the city in the Middle Ages. It served as a moat around the city until 1585, when Amsterdam expanded beyond the Singel. Het Scheepvaartmuseum| The National Maritime Museum, Amsterdam, The Netherlands The museum is dedicated to maritime history and contains many artefacts associated with shipping and sailing. The collection contains, among other things, paintings, scale models, weapons and world maps. The paintings depict Dutch naval officers such as Michiel de Ruyter and historical sea battles.
The map collection includes works by 17th-century cartographers Willem Blaeu and his son Joan Blaeu. The museum also has a surviving copy of the first edition of Maximilianus Transylvanus' work, De Moluccis Insulis, the first to describe Ferdinand Magellan's voyage around the world.

We had an amazing boat trip with our captain Ricky. Even when the weather was not so good - mixed sun and rain - we really enjoyed this trip because Ricky gave really good, useful and lots of funny informations. And because of the lack of tourists on the boat we had an almost private trip
