  • Emperor's Canal (Keizersgracht), Amsterdam, The Netherlands
    We begin the cruise in the Royal Streets, on the Keizersgracht or Emperors Canal next to the Jordaan district, a beautiful unspoilt area of town at the north end of the canal district. You will board the boat and end the cruise outside the original hat factory of Amsterdam, 'Het Rode Hood' (The Red Hat)
  • The Jordaan, Amsterdam, The Netherlands
    The first district we cruise through is always a favourite to explore by boat and by foot. A charming, relaxed area of town, just outside the centre and away from the hustle and bustle of the busy tourist traps.
  • Anne Frank House, Amsterdam, The Netherlands
    Cruising South through the Jordaan district, we will pass Anne Frank House. If a visit to the museum is on your itinerary, Anne Frank House is just a five minute walk from the departure dock, but remember to book tickets in advance!
  • Canal Ring (Grachtengordel), Amsterdam, The Netherlands
    We continue the cruise around the Canal Belt or Canal Ring, through the picturesque waterways, passing the stunningly preserved 17th century canal houses, toward the River Amstel
  • The Amstel, Amsterdam, The Netherlands
    At the end of the original canal belt, we arrive at the iconic Amstel River. The only natural river in the city of Amsterdam and where the city takes it's name. Here we see the beautiful Skinny Bridge and many famous landmarks.
  • Herengracht, Amsterdam, The Netherlands
    Cruising back through the Herengracht or Gentlemans Canal, we see the biggest mansion houses of the city centre. This area is called the Golden Bend, where the most wealthy merchant families resided. Here you will see the fancy ornate facades, which often depict the trade of the merchant famlies.

I really enjoyed this trip. Hans was entertaining, informative and very skilled at driving his vessel through narrow gaps. All other boat captains are amateurs by comparison! The apple pie was delicious (although the cream dispenser needed some work) and the drinks were good quality. This is less a tour of the main sights of Amsterdam and more a relaxing drink on the water with friends, with amusing commentary and recommendations for things to see. The design of this boat means that you are facing towards the middle so to see out of the nearest window you need to turn right around. Therefore I don't recommend this tour for anyone with an inflexible neck. Otherwise, perfect!

Absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Recommend very highly! Great boats, Great host, great knowledge, very laid back, excellent drinks selection. What are you waiting for? Book it!
