We never actually went on this trip. Greek ferry strike. We are still waiting for the refund that we requested. The alternative that we were offered was unacceptable as it was the day after we were returning to the uk.

The trip to ancient Olympia was very exciting. We visited the museum first and the Olympic ruins afterwards, which gave a nice picture/overview of the site. Our guide however did not information us, about the program for our trip (when and where to meet and ect). The local guide at the Olympic site was late and left the tour before time, therefore we did not se everything at the ruin site:-( However the local guide was very informative with the things we saw.

We had the lucky opportunity to be shown the site by an Archaeologist who helped paint pictures for us of what the site would have looked like at its height. We also had ample time free time to visit the site at our leisure, which was a nice treat. Since I love UNESCO World Heritage sites, the tour allowed me to visit this site without the worry of coordinating its logistics, while learning more than I would have on my own. Be ready however for a long day.
