Booked a bus trip to Olympia from the cruise port. The company was easy to find, being the first blue building past the port with blue awning named "Greca Land and Tour Company. An easy walk. A friendly, efficient family runs the business. We had a pleasant guide who led us to the bus at the appointed time. She rode with the group to Olympia, admonished us to be back in the parking lot at 1 p.m. which gave us 3 hours to explore, and led us to the gated entry.
(Note: Buy your entry tickets online to cut the out the ticketing delay) For me the Olympia site was quite crowded. The " ruins" I did see consisted mostly of stones on the ground and I cut my walk very short to go to the Olympia museum, which is included in the entry ticket. Nice, cool aired museum with several rooms of displays with their history and other notes. Interesting. Unfortunately I could not afford any souvenir at the Museum Store. Tres chi chi prices, even compared to other museum stores I've visited. There is also a Museum of the Archeological site on the way back to the collection point but Museum I didn't have time to see it. (Our bus collection time was at 1 p.m.)
The fare for round trip transport was reasonable. The bus was comfortable and the experience was good value.
