We joined this E Mountain bike ride down from almost the snow line of the Sierra Nevada mountains overlooking Granada back to where we started in the centre of town. 57 Ks, 700m of up and 2000m of down. The van supported us most of the way and we had our guide to lead us. It was a blast on such a perfect sunny day. I ride a bit of mountain bikes both non-assisted and E and it was straightforward as long as you are comfortable on loose wide trails and mostly gravel roads. My wife rides but doesnt do mountain biking and she had no trouble but did find it more challenging with the surface. The E bikes are plenty powerful and I returned with slightly over half charge. They are well maintained with great stopping ability( as long as you take the surface into account). Remember to use your gears and not constantly adjust the power setting and you wont have a problem. The scenery was spectacular with the snow covered peaks always seeming to make your photos and the natural parks we rode through were stunning. The final highlight was to descent on a road that showed both the Alhambra and the Albaycin ( ok it was pretty quick given the gradient downwards! ). Has to be right up their with my best one day rides. Could I have made it without the E bike? Probably with more time, way more sweat but hell, I’m on holidays!
