Angkor Temple Full-Day Tour (by Join-In luxury MiniBus)

If you want to experience all the must-see highlights of Angkor Wat, this is an excellent choice. Our tour guide, John Long, was incredibly kind and very knowledgeable. And thank you to our driver, Jasmin Lis.

Fantastic day exploring some of the many temples of Angkor Wat. Our guide Jon was really knowledgeable and looked after everyone. It's a long day with a lot of walking in the heat so come prepared

Was picked up at our hotel on time for this full day tour. Transferred to transfer centre and had around 20mins before our departure, drinks available to purchase if required, but we had just had breakfast, free wifi. As it is the low season there were only 5 of us on the tour with Mr T, the driver, and the guide Chandra. First stop is the ticket office and advised to buy a three day pass if visiting for more than 1 day as it is much cheaper than separate passes. However, as only in Siem Reap for 3 days we got the one day for 37 $US. The good thing about Cambodia is that US $, Cambodian rials and Thai Bath can be used interchangeably. While we were there was around 3500 Rials to the $ and 5500 to the GBP. Now to the tour. Chandra was a very knowledgeable tour guide, having worked as an arachnologist in the area for several yrs. Gave a good background to each temple en-route and filled in with other bits of Cambodian history, which over the last 60+ yrs has not been the happiest!! Tour covered the main temples starting in Angkor Wat where we spent around 3 hrs and boy it was HOT. But information was given in the shade or in an area of the temple with lovely breeze, so Chandra knows his way around:)) Then stopped for lunch in a local restaurant. After lunch, ca 1.5 hrs, went to Tomb raider temple (Angkor Tom), followed by Bayon (?) with the Buddha faces looking at you spent around an hour at each. Finished at the top of a hill for sunset and the final temple, but no sunset tonight as getting ready to rain!!!! Finished back at our hotel around 19.00. Excellent day with lots of information to adsorb. Fortunately no rain during the tour but the heavens opened shortly after we were back in the hotel. So if visiting remember that the raining season is from May/June until Oct, lovely and green surroundings but be prepared for rain every day around 17.00. You need a hat and light clothes and a small umbrella is good for "mobile" shade. So would I recommend this tour YES. Over the last 15ys been here 3 times and this was the best of the tours I have taken. WE both enjoyed the tour. Thank you to MR T our excellent driver and Chandra for the tour.
