Herman was a very good guide and really knew his Nuremberg history. I didn't have any specific architectural agenda, but as an architect I was interested to hear more about the ideas and construction of buildings. Herman admitted his strength was more history than architecture.
He was able to take me on a walk by the main churches, the Rathaus, Albrecht Durer house, city wall, castle garden and castle area, side streets, the executioner building and bridge, and he told me many interesting stories about the prison, Nuremberg's history as an imperial city, how much was rebuilt after WWII.
I would recommend the tour if this sounds interesting to you and would even recommend him to friends and family. But the architecture part was discussed lightly.
