Darwin Experience is a Kayak crossing on the Santa Cruz River, El Calafate. We do about 15 km of paddling until we reach a typical Patagonian stay where we will wait for you with an outdoor lunch.

We pick up all passengers staying in hotels within the city of El Calafate.

  • Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
  • Minimum age 12 years.
You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.
  • For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

Excellent excursion, full of laughter and adventures. They give you a special suit to keep you from getting wet, customized to your needs. Super attentive coordinators giving directions and helping you at all times. The end of the day, they give you an exquisite natural juice, fresh fruits from the area. And they offer a super-tasty and complete lunch: meat with varied vegetables, a spectacular foccaccia and wine for all tastes.

Very enjoyable kayak of around 9 miles in a Class 2 River. Guides very knowledgeable and friendly. Helped all the way from putting on the dry suits to helping with stroke suggestions in the Eddy swirls! Outstanding meal, authentic and delicious after a long paddle! We saw a gaucho on a horse, many waunako’s, and some ducks. The chef and associated staff all very helpful and kind. Highly recommend this muy divertido experience! Thank you Mindful Travel for arranging!
