Perito Moreno Glacier, Argentina The best known and most impressive glacier in Los Glaciares National Park.
This glacier shows a surprising and curious phenomenon, in which its great mass of ice continuously advances, causing the accumulation, rupture and detachment of gigantic blocks of ice on its 5 km wide front, located on the Canal de los Témpanos; that's where the numerous ice fragments of the glacier sail.
The front of the glacier exceeds 60 meters above the water at its maximum height, from where pieces of various sizes fall continuously, producing a stridency comparable to the sound of thunder. 180 minutes
Pasarelas Perito Moreno, El Calafate, Argentina Upon reaching the Perito Moreno Glacier, we will cross the walkways that have balconies at different levels and angles connected by paths and stairways which can be covered in its entirety during the excursion and thus we will be able to appreciate this impressive and wonderful glacier from different points. 120 minutes

The guide and the luxury driver, very kind and friendly. What lowers the rating is the misleading advertising on Trip Advisor, which sells the tour as including access to the parks and then says you have to pay the entrance fee... ambiguous and open to misinterpretation.

We narrowly missed doing the Glacier Walk at Matanuska glacier in Alaska, so I was really looking forward to the Perito Moreno glacier walk. In fact, the glacier walk and the Penguin experiences determined my schedule in Argentina as I absolutely wanted to ensure that we would not miss out on these attractions. For all the expectations that I carried into the tour, Perito Moreno more than lived up to them and our family had a blast. We arrived in El Calafate with its breathtaking views of Lake Argentino in the evening and the Perito Moreno tour was the next day. The tour operator gives you the time slot for hotel pickup the prior evening. The bus ride to the glacier is quite comfortable but is longish, almost two hours. The guide in the bus was professional and set the expectations for the day. We arrived at the Pasarelas Perito Moreno and were given time to walk around the park and get lunch. The Brazo Rico provides fantastic views of the glacier and goes a long way around, so we actually wished we were given more time for hike. The restaurant in the park was obviously crowded but we had pretty good options despite being vegetarian. Post-lunch the bus took us to the edge of the glacier. Next you get on to the boat that takes you up close to the glacier but then you have another long trek to get to the glacier. So, it was along grind and we were obviously a little tired. But once we got our crampons and started the min-trek experience, it was simply exhilarating. My family felt it was worthy of its price. There were some folks in our group who had been there some years ago and they identified the shrinkage in the glacier. I hope the high price tag is going to preserve the pristine environment and so it should not be an issue. Moreover, there is total transparency about the time on the glacier. There is a different guide at the glacier, and he was simply superb. Extremely knowledgeable, very good at English, willing to share his experiences and awesome at clicking pictures for everyone in the group. When my wife had a fall, he quickly helped her back on her feet and made sure she was comfortable for the rest of the trek. There was a surprise treat at the end of the trek. Overall, the Perito Moreno trek was an experience to cherish
