It is a tour in 4x4 where every moment is a unique experience. The coast of Lake Argentino is surrounded by nature and history. The ascent to Punta Bonita cliff allows to have an excellent panoramic view. The Punta Walichu archaeological site is visited where the cave paintings made by natives are interpreted in the walls of caves. We finish the tour in one of the caves, where you have lunch or dinner, with an impressive view of the lake and the mountains.

    Tour of the coast of Lake Argentino, which stands out as the largest lake in Argentina. The history of the place leads us to remember the journeys of explorers like Francisco Pascasio Moreno, who baptizes the Lake as Argentino. Climbing the cliff Punta Bonita appreciates its magnitude, the mountains of the Andes Mountains and the landscape around El Calafate.

  • Walichu Caves, El Calafate, Argentina
    We visit the archaeological area called Punta Walichu where you can see cave paintings on the walls of the caves, made by the natives thousands of years ago. Through the interpretation of the paintings you can understand the way of life and culture of the Tehuelche community. The visit ends in one of the caves, where we offer a lunch or dinner overlooking Lake Argentino.

This was the best way to experience the colours the lake has to offer. The cave painting were a bit underwhelming. The food and drinks were lovely.

O jantar estava ótimo e o passeio é bem interessante. Mas quando fiz a compra havia duas opções de horário mais tarde (às 18h e às 19h). Eu comprei o passeio de 19h, para garantir que o nosso jantar seria à noite na caverna, já que estávamos no final de novembro. Pra nossa surpresa, já lá na viagem, nos passarsm pro grupo de 18h. Imaginamos que talvez tivessem feito um grupo só, unindo os 2 horários, por falta de clientes. Mas quando estávamos indo embora, depois de jantarmos com luz do dia, tinha um outro grupo chegando. E esse grupo sim, que seria o nosso, deve ter jantado à noite ou vendo o pôr do sol. Fiquei chateada com essa falha. Nos passaram pra um horário que não compramos, sem nos avisar e obviamente sem a nossa concordância.

Short and sweet tour, ~2 hours of driving and ~2 hours of stops and dinner. The stops were short but interesting, enough time for good photos, and the dinner was excellent, both food and setting (wine included!). A nice way to get a panoramic view of Lago Argentina. Our guide Cristian was excellent, very friendly and kind and informative with information.
