    Everyday life, culture and history of Gyumri are presented in the museum. This remarkable mansion was built by wealthy merchant Petros Dzitoghtsyan in 1872 from the famous red tuff of Shirak. The museum was founded in 1984 in this very building. It is included in the list of intangible monuments of history and culture of Gyumri.

  • Harichavank Monastery, Armenia
    7th century monastery complex of Harichavank is situated on the western slope of Mount Aragats, on a roky cape. Not far from the main buildings there is a small chapel which is of great interest. The chapel is built on a piece of rock, which as a result of an earthquake split from the cape and the chapel is now towering over the canyon.

I enjoyed the city tour of Gyumri; for me, the city looks like it's still living in the old days of the 70s. I loved the streets and the buildings, and you will find that most buildings have a story of their own.

(Gyumri & Harichavank) My sister and I were very excited for this tour, as the photos looked very promising. We booked it specifically because the website showed beautiful flowers and greenery. However, when we arrived and explored the area, we found it a bit underwhelming and not quite what we had anticipated. Unlike the other tours we've taken with Hyur (this being my third, 2021, 2022 and 2024 but first in Gyumri) this one fell short of our expectations. It might be helpful to update the photos to reflect seasonal changes, so guests know what to expect. Just to clarify, our guide was wonderful and very helpful (I'm sorry I forgot her name)—the tour itself just wasn’t quite what we envisioned and didn’t fully match the impression we had from the photos.

Il tour è stato interessante, la guida Marina è stata molto esaustiva nelle spiegazioni e sempre disponibile a rispondere alle domande e a tutte le curiosità del gruppo, formato per metà da persone parlanti inglese e per metà russo. I luoghi visitati meritano sicuramente. L'unica nota non positiva è stato lo stile di guida dell'autista, avremmo preferito un po' di prudenza in più. Il pranzo proposto era completo, buono ed economico.
