Khor Virap is one of the shrines of the Armenian Apostolic Church, a place of pilgrimage. The most interesting fact of this monastery is the fact that it was built on the site of the royal prison, where Gregory the Illuminator was previously imprisoned – the patron saint and the first official head of the Armenian Apostolic Church by the Armenian king for 13 years. From the territory of the monastery there is an unusual view of the biblical mountain Ararat. 60 minutes

Hands down one of the best experiences I have ever had with a touring company. Sargis was super knowledgeable and passionate about the history he shared, and Arthur was a fantastic driver. They were on-time, professional and always ensured that I felt comfortable and safe. The office itself was communicative and super easy to work with. They are my first choice for any future tours and transport needs. I was able to experience their airport transfer service, full-day tour and local Yerevan tour as well. Great company and team!

Another beautiful day with our guide Maryam Margaryan whose company we had requested after our tour with her to Garni and Geghard a few days earlier. On our first stop on our way to Khor Virap, not only were we generously treated to Armenian coffee and dried fruits and nuts by the owner of the place, but we were also greeted by the snowy peak of majestic Mount Ararat. Khor Virap is worth the visit, while Noravank monastery is a real gem that should not be missed. Our guide Maryam was as informative, pleasant and helpful as during our first visit with her, and the driver Ara was very courteous and professional. The whole trip was perfectly well organised by Hyur and up to our expectations.

The tour was very interesting and we saw very beautiful places. We felt very safe the whole time with our driver Karen. We had enough time everywhere to take photos and explore the area. We would book a tour with Jan Armenia Tours again at any time. We were very well informed about the pickup and the provider also ensured that everything was in order during the tour. We can highly recommend the tour!
