2 Days Private Tour: Delphi & Meteora

Our family of four love doing private tours and Olive Sea delivered. We had two great trips with them during our Greece stay. The planning and communication stages before we arrived were very smooth. Giannis and Ilias were our Athens guides. Ilias was always there to pick us up in an air conditioned van to give us a break from the heat. Giannis was a very engaging and knowledgeable licensed Athens guide. We saw all the main archeological and historical sites in the city and he knew the best order of attractions to minimize the summer heat and crowds. We had a great coffee stop and a lunch stop at Acropol restaurant.  Socrates was our guide for the two-day trip to Delphi and Meteora. He was an excellent and careful driver and he had a lot of driving in those two days. Delphi was a challenge even at 11am as it's a steady climb uphill, but we were not rushed and had a self-guided tour after getting information from Socrates (he is not licensed and could not guide us through the site). We had an amazing lunch stop at To Patriko Mas in Delphi at Socrates' suggestion and it was one of our favorite restaurants in mainland Greece. Despite the long drive to Meteora, Socrates drove us to the top of the mountain to get the best views of the sunset over the distinctive monasteries on their cliffs. We started early the next day and visited 3 of the 4 open monasteries with minimal effort as Socrates knew the best routes to avoid climbing too much up or down and was always there to pick us up to take us to the next monastery. On the way back to Athens, we had another lovely stop at a restaurant by the sea and were safely dropped off at our Airbnb. We would all highly recommend Olive Sea for those who are looking to have a unique Greek adventure.

We had a wonderful time on the delphi/meteora trip and athens day tour with our Canadian, Spartan olive farmer, Nasos. He was very friendly, helpful and went out of his way to make our tour special. He took us to see sunset at meteora, which was breathtaking and certainly the highlight of our trip. Big group tours don't compare to this sort of private experience, which was flexible and we were never rushed. We would recommend this tour and Nasos to anyone!
