Explore the food markets of Athens on a 4-hour walking tour and taste some of the delicious treats on offer. Start with a traditional Greek breakfast of koulóuria (sesame bread rings), and then make your way to a century-old pastry shop to sample loukoumades (Greek donuts) and custard-filled filo squares. Enjoy local pies and cheeses at authentic Greek bakeries. Next, wander through the meat and fish market, the living monument markets of the city. Try dark roasted coffee to one of the older coffee roasters downtown. Enjoy some local wine, organic produce olive oil and honey, seven-year-old aromatized vinegar, and the world-famous Greek yogurt at a small shop that sells fantastic gifts for your friends back home. Wander down Evripidou Street, scented by herbs. Visit a local tavern and explore mezedes plates (local tapas). We always take walking food tours everywhere we go and this was BRILLIANT!!! Irene(sorry if misspelled) is fun, knowledgeable and understands people. My group was the best group ever. The FOOD…..so DELICIOUS!!! It’s not small bites. It’s a beautiful intro to the Grecian food scene and the other places that influenced their food.

What a great way to spend the afternoon and get to know Athens, history and especially the food! Anabelia was an excellent tour guide - she was very knowledgeable and fun! Highly recommend!

Amazing! Our guide Panos is so kind, patient and knowledgeable. This is exactly the tour my partner and I wanted to get our bearings of the food in the city. No more choice paralysis. I was impressed by the range of food and places. My partner is vegetarian but, as Panos pointed out, so much of Greek cuisine is vegetarian-friendly. Do this tour first. We ended up going back to many of the places on the tour for seconds. And ordered some of our favorite dishes/ snacks in other restaurants.
