    Depart from and drive along the coast line until we reach the Corinth Canal where we will make a brief stop. We continue our day trip from Athens to ancient Corinth. Ancient Corinth was one of the most important cities of ancient Greece. It was this megalopolis where the Apostle Paul arrived, worked and established a prosperous church, and later on he wrote two of his epistles, which are now part of the New Testament. We will visit the ruins of the old city where St. Paul worked You will admire also the Temple of Apollo, that is one of the oldest temples in Greece dating back to the 6th century B.C.

    This tour will take you to all the must-see sights of Athens.     Depart from and drive along the coast line until we reach the Corinth Canal where we will make a brief stop. The Corinth Canal connects the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea. It cuts through the narrow Isthmus of Corinth and separates the Peloponnese from the Greek mainland, arguably making the peninsula an island. ls considered one of the great engineering accomplishments of Greece. The canal was dug through the Isthmus at sea level and has no locks. It is 6.4 kilometres (4 mi) in length and only 21.4 metres (70 ft) wide at its base. The canal was constructed from 1880 to 1893, however, it is something that shipowners and captains had dreamed about for some 2000 years before it became a reality.

    The Panathenaic Stadium or Kallimarmaro is a multi-purpose stadium in Athens, Greece. One of the main historic attractions of Athens,it is the only stadium in the world built entirely of marble. A stadium was built on the site of a simple racecourse by the Athenian statesman Lykourgos (Lycurgus) c. 330 BC, primarily for the Panathenaic Games.The stadium was excavated in 1869 and hosted the Zappas Olympics in 1870 and 1875. After being refurbished, it hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the first modern Olympics in 1896. It was used for various purposes in the 20th century and was once again used as an Olympic venue in 2004. It is the finishing point for the annual Athens Classic Marathon.It is also the last venue in Greece from where the Olympic flame handover ceremony to the host nation takes place.

With only 1 day to see Athens, this tour was an excellent choice. There were 4 of us and the vehicle was large and comfortable. Our tour guide Dimitri took us to all the important places and told us about each one. He also showed us a family run restaurant where we had a wonderful lunch. I would highly recommend this tour. Especially if you have a short stay.

Our tour guide was Michael who impressed us with his knowledge of the history at all of our stops. He also gave us so much information about the Greek and Roman gods and how they related to the area we were visiting. He was so sweet making this trip an excellent adventure for all 6 of us in our group. He even went out of his way to take my friend to a specific place she wanted to go for her birthday. The food was very good at the restaurant that he took us to also. Thank you Michael!

George drove us everywhere that we could cram into our short stay in Athens. He answered ALL of my son's numerous questions. We wish we would have scheduled a guide to walk around the ruins with us, but George picked up where we missed out. He was so thoughtful and knowledgeable. We left exhausted and happy from a day that was jam packed full of sites.
