You can see this in the medieval walls high on Palamidi Hill above the town and in the amazing fort that sits right in the middle of the harbor, but you can also see it in the 19th-century buildings scattered around the town.

Nafplio was absolutely beautiful - we enjoyed visiting Palamidi castle and touring the old town. It is a perfect one day excursion from Athens. Theofilos was an excellent driver - informative and fun to talk with. It was a great experience - would highly recommend.
