Departure from Agadir at 08:30 in the morning. We start with the usual visit of the medina of Taroudant, Souks, Ramparts, Salam Palace, and then take a short walk in the labyrinths of the old Medina and its Souks rich in food products, vegetables, fruits, dried fruits, herbs, organic products. crafts, antiques... Around 12:30 p.m. descends to Tiout. Tiout is a Berber village at the foot of the Anti-Atlas 30 km from Taroudant. A magnificent palm grove extends between several villages with ocher red houses offering a sublime landscape of the Kasbah of Tiout, one can see a panorama both green and desert. And after lunch at the kasbah, we'll take a donkey ride (extra), the best means of transport to discover the palm grove. Around 5:30 p.m. we return quietly to Agadir.

Taroudant - a quick stop at one of the gates in the wall then most of the time being taken on a 'tour' round the souk with particular shops being pushed which became a recurring feature of the day. Then the inevitable visit to an Argan Cooperative (6th time for us over 2 holidays). We then drove to Tiout oasis (green valley, not a lake) for lunch which was very good but in a restaurant not a homestay. Then a donkey tour of the oasis which was a nice surprise and fun but another additional cost which did not go down well with some of the guests. Led to trinket and drinks shops and encouraged to buy more. Clearly the guide and the donkey drivers were subsistence level workers so were pushing for extra money, we don't blame them but maybe more of the overall cost of the tour could be put in their direction.

La visite de Taroudant a été insignifiante. Nous avons marché rapidement dans quelques rues et hop, c'est terminé. Le guide ne semblait pas du tout intéressé par son travail. Ensuite on s'est rendu à Tiout pour déjeuner chez l'habitant... Euh, nous avons mangé dans un bâtiment son charme qui semble ne servir à rien. Ce n'étais certainement pas chez l'habitant! Seul moment agréable, la promenade à dos d'âne. Le guide pour la promenade était très sympathique. En bref, toute la partie de la visite de Taroudant doit être revue de A à Z. Et pour finir, j'ai eu l'impression qu'on nous faisait faire un long détour pour arriver à l'hôtel à une heure raisonnable... Je n'en suis pas à ma première excursion au Maroc, je suis donc capable de juger en toute objectivité .
