Panstwowe Muzeum Auschwitz-Birkenau, Oswiecim, Poland Visit the former Nazi concentration camps at Auschwitz and Birkenau on this 7-hour trip from Krakow. By June 1940, Jews and over 700 political criminals had been sent to Auschwitz and the atrocities had begun.
Birkenau was built by Auschwitz prisoners and by October 1941 was used as an extermination camp. Between 1 and 1.5 million were killed, and approximately 90 percent of those killed were Jews.
Before Auschwitz-Birkenau was liberated in January 1945, the SS attempted to blow up the camp and destroy the documentation. They were only partially successful, and the Polish government decided to restore the site as a memorial to the victims.
During this guided tour you will see both death camps Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II - Birkenau. Each part is guided by a professional and certified guide provided by the Auschwitz Birkenau Musuem 210 minutes

Trip was very good. Picked up on time by Isobel our coach driver, smooth drive to Auschwitz. She was very helpful and professional.
Would have been nice to have had a bit more time to explore Auschwitz on your own, probably not possible due to amount of visitors.
One should note that the time you book for is the tour time at Auschwitz, you will be picked up in Krakow approx 2 hours before this time!
It was a very good experience with informative guides and an eye opener.
One regret was we had no available cash to give Isobel our driver a tip, make sure you have some as she deserved it.
