Immerse yourself in the awe-inspiring beauty of Austin's iconic Barton Creek on this 2.5-mile round-trip paddle accompanied by one of our experienced Tour Guides. With Downtown Austin as your backdrop, you'll paddle alongside the ever-popular Zilker Park on your journey to engage with the nature, wildlife, and natural history of Barton Springs – famous for its year-round 68-degree (f) water. Weather permitting, participants are encouraged to put themselves in the shoes of ancestors long before them who considered the waters of Barton Creek and Barton Springs of a sacred nature, by taking a quick dip in the shallow area at the headwaters of the creek. This public departure requires advanced registration and does not exceed 25 participants.

    At 3 miles round trip, this urban guided historical and eco tour is the perfect way to get to know Austin from all perspectives. As we paddle East toward Downtown Austin, you’ll learn about the last 400 years of history on this stretch of the Colorado River. On our return journey, we'll explore the clear waters of Barton Creek, highlighting an abundance of plants, wildlife and fish that reside in the fourth largest concentration of natural springs in Texas. Weather and time permitting: an optional dip in Barton Springs (the 68-degree water that Austin is so famous for)!

It was a beautiful day for kayaking and our guide Libby did an awesome job. We had a great time as a family and really enjoyed the stop at Barton Springs swimming, and playing on rope swings!

This place was adorable and easy to get to. We had an amazing guide named Libby who showed us lots of cool sights and animals, she even watched our things while we swam in Barton springs. We’ll def be back! Thanks Libby and crew!
