We had such a blast on this tour! The 9am morning slot was perfect, as the city was still pretty cool and quiet. Emily was such a friendly and easy going guide, she took the time to get to know us and shared info on her own life in Austin which was much appreciated. Such an interesting tour with a fun, supernatural, dark spin. We especially loved the ghost stories and the historic scandal! Emily’s passion for the history of her city is totally contagious ????????☺️ Would definitely recommend doing the tour even if you’re just in town for a quick layover!

Despite temperatures hovering near 100, our tour was great and our guide, Emily, was fantastic. The 2 hour tour was comprehensive and covered a little more than one mile of walking and more than 250 years of Austin’s history, culture, and politics. While some of the names and places were familiar, Emily put them in context and created a timeline that showed the evolution of Austin from scrub grass to modern metropolis. Even more fascinating were the tales of: Texas as an independent country; O. Henry; and the relationship between Austin and Whitechapel (fascinating). Emily was a great guide - enthusiastic, informative, and a pleasure to interact with. She was streetwise and very capable of navigating our group into and out of the different parts of the city. She was also cognizant of the heat and strategically stopped in shady or indoor spots to talk. As a Texas native and long time resident of Austin, she also had great recommendations for areas of interest and restaurants. In summary, this is a great tour with a professional and enthusiastic guide. The value is tremendous and well worth the cost.

Lots of fun stories! Tour guide Emily is responsible, friendly, nice and she told me many interesting stories about Austin! I strongly recommend.
