Jewel Cave is the biggest show cave in Western Australia; comprising three massive chambers. The one-hour guided tour is a magical experience; you will see a dazzling display of some of nature's finest and most meticulous work. Jewel Cave is also home to one of the longest crystal ‘straw’ stalactites found in any tourist cave in Australia.

    Fully-guided tours showcase the breathtaking magnitude of Jewel Cave. You will see towering crystal creations that have taken thousands of years to form, and intricate decorations stretching and suspended across the ceiling, like vines and dancing cobwebs. From stalagmites to flowstone, shawls, helictites and even ‘cave coral’; this cave tour reveals the most amazing variety of cave formations or ‘speleothems’. Once you see the ‘natural entrance’ to this cave, the means of entry for the intrepid cave explorers of the 1950’s, you will appreciate the incredible task they faced in opening up this spectacular cave to the public.  You'll also hear stories of the now-extinct ‘Tasmanian Tigers’ that fell into the cave and met a dark and lonely fate. At the end of your tour, your awe-inspiring crystal journey is perfectly complemented with the option of the self-guided ‘Karri Walk’ through the towering forest giants, and viewing the ‘natural entrance’ from above the cave. The Jewel Cave Centre is complete with interpretive area, retail and café facilities.

The caves are beautiful and the story behind them is really interesting. Richard, our guide, was so knowledgeable, but explained the formation story simply so everyone could understand. You didn’t t need a chemistry or geology degree to understand! It’s quite an easy tour (the steps aren’t difficult at all) and plenty of time between the walks as each viewing platform has a bit of time to listen to your guide.

Jewel caves is an amazing experience that is a definitely worth a visit. The full guided tour is conducted is well done and the tour guide was fantastic well informed and gave us well educated tour which we learnt a lot

Fantastic cave and tour. Beautiful cave with lots to see. You will descend into the cave quickly down steep stairs to an amazing view and it just gets better and better the deeper you go into the cave. This cave is moderately strenuous, if you are unfit and overweight this may not be the cave for you. The pathways are narrow and low ceilings and slightly tight at times, stairs are quite thin in width and quite steep and vertical in some areas.Railings are there to assist climb the stairs but they are steep, like climbing a bunk bed vertically. You will need to keep up with the tour, once you move forward you have to keep going, The way out is lots of stairs, vertical and without landing to break up the exit. Around 250+ stairs in and same out so moderate fitness would be expected. This is a stunning cave, one of the best in the area.
