On the southern slopes of Greater Caucasus there's a unique settlement called Lahij. This settlement is notable with its authentic handicrafts traditions. Craftsmen of Lahij preserved their traditions and technologies of working on non-ferrrous metals, like copper and bronze through centuries. Cobblestoned streets of this amazing city will offer you picteresque view to tinsmiths and blacksmiths, as well as its shops, which will amaze you with carpets and rug crafts. Locals of this medieval village have developed sophisticated construction techniques due to frequent earthquakes. The experts claim that its old sewage system was built about 1500 years ago. You will also have a chance to enjoy a view of the majestic natural canyon and Zernava suspension bridge. This magnificent place will be followed by a picnic party, which will cater mix of kebabs (pieces of lamb, kofte, chicken and grilled vegetables), fresh salads and local hommemade wine.

The magnificent works of Lahij masters on copper vessels were exhibited at the World Exhibition in Vienna in 1873 (Weltausstellung 1873). Here, each quarter has its own unique mosque, which reinforces the impression of guests from the village.

    Lunch in the Ismailli forest. An hour break in a cozy restaurant will bring the main gastronomic notes to Shamakhi-Gabala tour.     Qobustan city. The center of Gobustan district is the next stop, which is included in the Baku-Gabala tour package. Here guests will have an excursion to the place where a real miracle happened about a thousand years ago. The picturesque ravine, which is often called "Little Petra", is famous for the historical mausoleum "Diri Baba". It is visited not only by tourists, but also by pilgrims, since the mausoleum is an active religious building. After the tour, the bus leaves the desert and goes to the territory of orchards and vineyards, to the temperate climatic zone, the neighboring Shamakhi city.
