Then, meet your guide to begin your 45-minute tour. Opened in July 2014, the museum is now widely considered among Nassau’s top attractions. During your visit, take an in-depth look at the history and heritage of the Bahamas — ranging from the prehistoric times to today. Discover expansive collections of relics and treasures spanning the centuries, such as fossils and a meteorite dating back 4.5 billion years. Travel back to the days of Columbus and the piracy era, and learn of life as a slave on the plantations. Along the way, gain insight into the bold explorers who played roles in the development of the Bahamas. When your guided visit comes to an end, step outside to conclude your tour.

Loved the freedom and flexibility this provided. Nic our driver/tour guide was great at letting us adjust the time we spent at different stops to our interest and not a planned time. We got to see everything from the mansions to the poorer side of town and he even dropped me at the top of the queens staircase and drove around to pick me up at the bottom (I'm 71). Well worth the time and money.

Don’t miss this gem! We had a blast at this museum but we also almost didn’t get in. This was due to poor planning on my end, scheduling a walking toor probably too late the day before to be filled on the receiving end. When we arrived, the museum was closed and we wandered around, knocking the door of the museum and not knowing what to do. It was so hot outside even for April. We asked a few folks who seemed to be locals and one of them offered to call someone who could come and open the museum, which they did. He also brought us cups of ice cream that made my teens go from cranky to happy and set us up with audio tours. I’m really glad we got the chance to visit the museum. It’s small but packed with interesting objects small and large, telling the history of the Bahamas. I found it fascinating and was so grateful that we got to experience it.

$11 for a collection of Bahamian memorabilia from Columbus days to Colonialism to modern times all in a historic house that is said to be haunted. My only gripe was some rooms were stuffy but that’s all. If you have 30min to kill more if you like than it’s worth it. It’s nearby the national gallery and rum distillery.
