This is full day tour in and around Bahir Dar city. Bahir Dar is the capital of Amhara people regional state and one of the most beautiful cities in Ethiopia. This tour provides you a chance to catch up the ancient monasteries on Lake, blue Nile falls and Bahir Dar market. The tour will start from 08:30 and ends at 17:30 hours everyday.     In the morning take a boat cruise on lake Tana to and visit the ancient monasteries located on the island of the lake.

    After lunch break, drive 37 kilometers out of Bahirdar city to the small village of Tis Abay to visit the gorgeous blue Nile falls.

    Afterwards, drive back to Bahir Dar and if time permits visit the open market. End of the tour and drop off at your designated place.

we enjoyed the trip to lake tana monasteries. It was such a great time! we had lots of fun. We recommend tourist to visit the monastery of ura kidanemihret.

Well organized, i liked the initiative to change the rescheduling of Blue Nile to the morning due to the rainfall expected; but no time left to visit the island on Lake Tana due to lunch place inconvenience (not the tour organization’s fault; but a more result oriented approach is necessary); and the local market as it was already very late when we finished touring the lake. All in all, the price is significantly high but the comfort and attention to the needs are fine. No complimentary tea or coffee as mentioned on the program. Some details missing regarding information given; but it was enjoyable all in all.
