We called Ali (Mohamed AlAnsari) and he organised a special tour for the two of us as there were things we wanted to see on our own. He collected Matthias and I and we had an incredible time with him. We saw the main architectural buildings and sights of the city - modern and old - the latter included the fort, the first oil well and the Tree of Life. We went to the Pearl Museum (on the Pearling Path) and he told us all about the trade. He took us down to the beach and waited whilst we had an hour riding nice horses on the beach. It was a slow ride, so if you want to canter, you really need to insist as they are used to beginners! We also visited the mosque (from outside) to take photos. He dropped us off at the souk, so we could have a wander! Ali was brilliant - he was a mine of information about the country and had a very comfortable car to show us round.

I did an amazing customized tour with Mr Ali. While I only had 6 hours in transit I had a very rich experience seeing the Souq, Fort, causeway, tree of life & grand mosque. Ali made sure I had a great experience. The company took care to be responsive, helpful and tailor all to my needs - highly recommended.

Superb trip. Terrific guide. Was able to see the city in the comfort of a private vehicle. Knowledgeable guide, and great to learn about the history of the country.
