Batu Caves, Batu Caves, Selangor, Malaysia Batu Caves is a an iconic and popular tourist attraction in Selangor.
Site of a Hindu temple and shrine, Batu Caves attracts thousands of worshippers and tourists, especially during the annual Hindu festival, Thaipusam.
A limestone outcrop located just north of Kuala Lumpur, Batu Caves has three main caves featuring temples and Hindu shrines.
Its main attraction is the large statue of the Hindu God at the entrance, besides a steep 272 climb up its steps to finally view the stunning skyline of the city centre.
Monkeys frolic around the caves, and it is a popular spot for rock climbing enthusiasts. Paintings and scenes of Hindu Gods can also be seen in the Ramayana Cave.

The Visitor Centre is located in Setapak Jaya, just 20 minutes from the Kuala Lumpur city centre. A modern glass-clad foyer set within scenic lush landscaping, greets visitors upon arrival at the Visitor Centre along with Royal Selangor's Giant Tankard. Recognised as the world’s largest by the Guinness World of Records, the giant tankard provides one of many perfect photo opportunities at the Centre. 60 minutes
No 1 &, 3, Lorong Perusahaan Ringan 1, Taman Seri Gombak, 68100 Batu Caves, Selangor, Malaysia East Coast Batik (914804-X) (formerly Syarikat East Coast) which established in 1974 is one of the oldest batik and handicrafts centre in Klang Valley. It's located in the Gombak district which is just a throw stone away from the Batu Caves.
Visit the gallery and you'd learn that batik is not simply a cloth with an elaborate piece of design. Syarika East Coast is the place you need to visit if you are looking forward to enjoy a holistic experience in Malaysian batik and handicrafts. 30 minutes

Ich war am 31.12. zur Silvesterfeier in Kuala Lumpur und habe morgens die Tour gemacht. Sie dauert ca. 3-4 Std. und beinhaltet drei Orte. Es beginnt mit dem Besuch der Batu Cave. Eine wunderschön bemalte Treppe führt in die beeindruckende Höhle. Ein sehr imposantes Naturgewölbe warten auf einen. Mega toll, auch der Blick auf die Stadt.
Der zweite Teil war ein Besuch eines Handwerksbetriebs, wo Seide und Baumwolle bearbeitet wird. Dies ist eher eine Verkaufsaktion...aber schnell vorbei. Der letzte Teil ist ein Besuch einer Bleifabrik, die tolle Einzelstücke für die ganze Welt herstellt. Jeder Arbeitsschritt wird gezeigt und der Einfluss der Firma auf Malaysia wird in einem Museum gezeigt. Sehr lohnenswerte.
