We arrived at 11.20 am ready to do our e-bike tour after reviewing the options online.
Little did we realise (read the fine print) that the tour we wanted to do had to be pre-booked 24 hours in advance.
The staff member at the counter (Mark), was very apologetic that he was unable to assist and then asked us to wait a minute which we did. The next thing we knew, he had spoken to another person who would look after the counter and said we could do the tour we were after.
There was no additional charge and we spent 2 hours touring around.
If you have never experienced e-bikes, take the time to go slow at the beginning and work out what the bike does and how to handle it. Early in our tour, I fell into a wall and grazed my arm and hand as I hadn't worked out how the electrics worked at the stage. Absolutely no fault of the company. Just me thinking 'I have this'. It is a great way to bike ride a fair distance and still enjoy being in the fresh air. Loved not having to push the peddles up hill.
We were offered helmets but chose not to have them as it was too hot.
Some information below we think worth sharing from the tour.
- The State Premiers office is in Precinct 1 and was built in 1995.
- The King of Selangor has 2 homes. The one built in this Precinct cost 20 billion MYR.
- There are 7 different bridges that give access to the island. All have been designed by different architectures so they don't look the same.
- The same has occurred for the building in the area.
- There is only 1 McDonalds on the island and it was packed when we stopped. It is 2 stories high and most people go there to use the free Wi-Fi.
- The Malaysia/China friendship garden is beautiful and worth taking time to have a look around and appreciate the reason it was built.
- Many of the buildings and the traffic lights are designed around looking like a Cobra as they found so many when developing the area.
They are hoping to have the region finished by 2021.
