Tanah Lot Temple, Beraban, Indonesia Tanah Lot means "Land [in the] Sea" in the Balinese language.[2] Located in Tabanan, about 20 kilometres (12 mi) North West of Denpasar, the temple sits on a large offshore rock which has been shaped continuously over the years by the ocean tide.
Tanah Lot is claimed to be the work of the 16th-century Dang Hyang Nirartha. During his travels along the south coast he saw the rock-island's beautiful setting and decided to rest there. Some fishermen saw him, and bought him gifts. Nirartha then spent the night on the little island. Later he spoke to the fishermen and told them to build a shrine on the rock, for he felt it to be a holy place to worship the Balinese sea gods.[3] The main deity of the temple is Dewa Baruna or Bhatara Segara, who is the sea god or sea power and these days, Nirartha is also worshipped here. 120 minutes

My wife and I booked this tour in Aug 2022, with Nyoman as our driver. It was a great tour (but a very long day), ending with a wonderful sunset at Tanah Lot. Nyoman provided lots of great local Balinese cultural information and color to the trip, and kept us well entertained throughout the day.
We started with the Taman Ayun temple, then went to the Ulun Dana water temple, on to the UNISCO Rice fields and then Tanah Lot.
Lunch (included in the ticket price) was at a busy restaurant located at the rice fields, with a great view of the fields. Lunch consisted of a buffet, but I believe they also had a menu one could order from from. Water was included, but there beverages were available to purchase as well. After lunch we took a walk through the rice fields which was very interesting. There are several available treks through the fields. The path is smooth in most places but there are a few hills to deal with.
Overall this tour was a great value and learning experience and offered just a bit more exposure to the Balinese culture and we're very happy we had Nyoman there to guide us.
