    The trekking will take about 1 – 2 hours, depending on your fitness. Upon your arrival at the top of the crater, you will be invited to see the most famous natural phenomenon of blue fire. It’s only 2 in the world, in Ijen Crater, Indonesia and Dallol Volcano, Ethiopia. But to see closer, you must go down into the crater of Ijen. It’s pretty dangerous, so if you feel doubt to go down, we suggest to stay on the top while waiting for the sunrise. At about 6 am, you will see the best view of Mount Ijen, which is the turquoise color of the acid lake that makes the view more incredible.

  • Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
  • Important Information for all travellers who are going to book this trip: Every first Friday of the month, Mount Ijen is closed for one day. So, please make sure you check the date of your booking.
  • Announcement: IIjen Crater is now open as usual and safe to visit. However, due to natural conditions, the blue fire is temporarily not visible. Please remember to always follow safety guidelines during your visit.
  • Important Announcement: Holiday Closure: Please note that we will not be accepting any bookings from 24th December to 7th January due to the holiday season.   • This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

We had the best time on the overnight tour from Ubud to Ijen. Booking and organising was very easy via the website and on a WhatsApp chat, where Sofyan provided us with lots of information. Our lovely Bali driver Yudis picked us up at 7pm seamlessly from our hotel and took us to the ferry, where we met Hamid, our guide for the Volcano. After the ferry, Fendi drove us to the cafe where we convened before the hike. Hamid was great - very friendly and chatty and he really looked after us and made sure we had a great time. We saw the blue flame and sulphur and a stunning sunrise! Hamid took lots of pictures for us and knew all the best spots to take us. The journey back was very smooth too.

We had an incredible trip. ???? We were lucky enough to start the tour together with our guide, Hamid. Hamid was extremely dedicated and proved to be a top photographer.
