What a fantastic way to get to know a bit about the beautiful city of Barcelona, particularly the history and passion of Catalonia and its people and traditions. Just a glimmer, but what a glimmer it was. Our tour guide, Mr. Dominic Furlonge, was beyond wonderful. At every turn through the gothic quarter and at every restaurant stop we were treated like honored guests. Dom has a very clear passion for what he does, and it was contagious. We could literally feel his love of history and admiration of the role that Catalonia has had, and continues to have as an important region in Spain. So much history. And the Tapas and Wine? Oh my! Perfect. Especially the part where he taught us (alas, I failed!) the Catalan method of drinking wine - the porrón. This was so fun! The whole night. LOVED LOVED LOVED.
