The Bassac Mekong Delta Cruises is entirely built of wood, from the hull of an 80-foot-long rice barge. She can accommodate up to 12 passengers in six nicely decorated cabins, each with air-con and a private bathroom, and features a 100 sqft restaurant that opens all around, a large gallery, a small office room and 700 sqft of sundeck.

absolutely amazing trip!! Treated like royalty as soon as you get on the boat with drinks and cold towels. The guide, Huey, was incredible- he knew about everything you would ask him and would always have a smile on his face. As a pescatarian, they were very accommodating to my food choices which is very appreciated and it was all lovely. We went on the most scenic bike ride- it was ethereal- and had some yummy native fruit in the middle of it. We also visited a floating market and a couple that made baskets which was so interesting to see. I absolutely recommend it to anyone thinking about it, it was once in a life time!

If you’ve got as far as reading this review, you’re considering an overnight Bassac tour! Just do it, it was amazing! From the minute you board you are treated like VIP’s. The en -suite cabins are small but tastefully decorated and extremely clean. The food was exceptional, over and above what we expected. The presentation and quality of the food was outstanding. All staff on board, without exception were friendly and efficient. We left the boat by tender to tour a local village and we’re given the option of a walking or cycling tour, followed by an opportunity to taste local produce before heading back to the boat in time for the sunset and an amazing dinner on deck. The next day, after a wonderful breakfast we visited the floating markets. We are so glad we included this trip in our itinerary. We loved every minute of it!
