Our tour guide Cici brought the events surrounding the Waiting Treaty signing to incredible life! She kept us all riveted to the story, incorporated information about the involvement of our countries at the time, gave a plethora of information and had an incredibly funny sense of humor to boot! Eight of us on an Overseas Adventure Tour extended excursion to the Bay of Islands very much enjoyed Cici's guiding - one of the best, if not THE best, guides I've ever had! Thank you, Cici! You are a gem!

A very informative few hours at the treaty grounds. The historic setting for the emergence of the Māori nation. A fun performance by Māori dance group followed by an audio guide around the grounds. The quality of the museum and associated buildings is excellent and the pass allows a consecutive day follow up visit should you see the need - we did! A real insight into the Māori people and their struggle for recognition in their own country. A must do…..
