Jiankou to Mutianyu is a very popular Great Wall hiking route in Beijing. This is a breathtaking 10 km hike that combines wild and restored Great Wall. You have to be in good physical condition but you will be rewarded with fantastic scenery. The Jiankou to Mutianyu hike should definitely be on you list of things to do. This private hiking tour includes Great Wall entrance fee, private hiking guide and transfer service.

    Your private car and driver will pick you up around 8am by private car. Driving from Beijing to your first stop will last around 2 hours, and then you will arrive Jiankou Great wall of China to start hiking. Along the way, you will be fascinated by the pretty landscape of the mountains, trees are all over the mountain and small river running in the valley. After a short break in the local guide's house, you will start to hike with your professional hiking guide. Your hiking guide will go all the way with you to make sure you will go on the right way and avoid very steep part of old wall.

  • Mutianyu Great Wall, Beijing, China
    Hiking will last for 3 to 4 hours and will end at Mutianyu Great wall. You can decide to take cable car to go down or walk 30mins further to slide down by goboggan(only in good weather). Mutianyu Great Wall is less crowded comparing to other parts in Great Wall of China, and the view from there is simply amazing and the hike is more exciting since it's sharper and more difficult. Be ready to have some fun and sweat! Hiking guide will take you to meet driver at Mutianyu site. then you will be transferred back to your hotel in Beijing.

Tony received early information that they were not allowing tourists to hike Jiankou to Mutianyu, this allowed us to “call an audible” and travel to a similar remote unrestored section of the Wall. Had he not had access to this information early, there would not have been time to adjust our plans. Others at our hotel drove all the way to Jiankou before learning of the closures due to fire risk. Great tour companies have access to information early and create a similar experience. Tony was super nice and knowledgeable and on our drive to Huanghuacheng gave us all the background information on our new hiking location. First class operation. Highly recommend it!

siamo stati in cina a dicembre ed abbiamo visitato pechino,xiang ,shanghai,guilin, cantone ed alla fine hong hong.il ricordo pi' bello ed emozionante e' stato senza dubbio la visita alla grande muraglia...opera di incredible ingegneria con una vista unica . si respira la storia della grande cina e si e' rimasti sbalorditi di come e'stato possibile la realizzazione di tanti chilometri di questa meraviglia

Wir wurden pünktlich im Hotel abgeholt und sicher und bequem zum Bergdorf, unserem Wanderstartpunkt gebracht. Unser Fahrer übergab uns an den Bergführer und wir wanderten 1 Stunde durchs Gelände bergauf. Sehr anstrengend, um nicht zu sagen sehr sehr anstrengend. Der Bergführer hat immer wieder kleinere Pausen eingelegt, damit wir verschnaufen und die Landschaft genießen konnten. Nach 1 Stunde erreichten wir die Große Mauer und es hat sich jeder Schritt und Höhenmeter gelohnt! Weit und breit keine Menschenseele. Dadurch die besten Fotos ever. Je näher wir der Seilbahn auf der Mauer kamen, um so mehr Besucher kamen uns entgegen. Das war aber egal, wir hatten ja alle Fotos im Kasten. Danke für die tolle Tour! Mega und immer wieder!!! Die Große Mauer ganz privat!
