In only 10min from downtown you will reach the venue including the traditional "Kaiserjäger" park.  The Bergisel Ski Jump is characterised by a breathtaking view of Innsbruck, the charm of a ski jumping venue with an Olympic past and modern architecture. The tower, designed by star architect Zaha Hadid, the "Bergisel Sky" panorama restaurant and the panorama terrace are easily accessible with two elevators. A gallery shows the Olympic history and offers insight to the world of ski jumping including the world famous 4 Hills Tournament.

    Spent a good hour here taking the tram to the top and the lift to the viewing platform. The jumpers are absolute dare devils and a joy to watch. Then went and sat in the sun on the deckchairs and admired their grace and bravery from the other end. Stunning views over Innsbruck. We went early and are glad we did as it was easy to get around without any waits.

    Most of the reviews tell how to get there and to get discount tickets, rather than helping would be visitors avoid a waste of time and money on the worst of around 15 sites we visited in Innsbruck. The Bergisel site is run down and basic. If you like ski jumping, it may change your mind. If you are unfamiliar with it, you will learn nothing. What a missed opportunity for a place with a reasonably storied history. There is no interpretive signage or video clips to give you a sense of what happens here or what the experience might be like. The cafe kitchen closed an hour early and the staff were slow, surly, and uninterested— a good argument for American tipping. If you just want a view, save your last 500 steps and enjoy the Tirol Panorama just below it. The only thing we got out of our 35 minute visit was 15 minutes of uphill hiking. Do the Nordkette lift or Tyrolean Folk Museum to see how an operation should be run and for an experience you’ll remember that provides real value for your money.

    If you love the Olympics and love sports, be sure to skip this. You get to ride up pn the funicular - but the Nordkette trip blows this one away. When you disembark, there is nothing to enlighten you at all.. no explanation of the sport of ski jumping and how it's changed, what goes on there now, no history of how this amazing structure was built, no pictures from the Olympics or later competitions- nothing. But wait, there's more. You CAN subject yourself to rude and shoddy treatment from the completely dismissive cafe staff. If you have the innsbruck pass, there are WAYYY better ways to spend your time than on this terribly presented attraction. Trust me on this one.
