Hands down, this is the best way to see any city, Berlin included. We met our guide near Sophienkirche, and after a very brief refresher on riding Segways (we’ve taken four or five similar tours), we were off. (Note: we were the only two or this particular tour, so we didn’t need headsets to hear the guide—most Segway tours have them, and they’re quite helpful in large cities). We literally thought we saw virtually the entire city: the Reichstag Building (Germany’s Parliament), Museum Island, Checkpoint Charlie, Hitler’s bunker, the Brandenburg Gate, and on a more pop-culture note, the hotel where Michael Jackson held his son from a window. This two-hour tour was a terrific and quick way to get our bearings of the city early on, especially because we were the only two on the tour. And while it was certainly cold—we often travel during colder weather to avoid crowds—we’d strongly recommend trying to book here--if your time is limited, you’ll see a lot, and if your time is extended, you’ll have a better feel for what you’ll want to see later.
