Our guide, Antonella Fantoni, brought the culture, architecture, and art of medieval and Renaissance Florence to life with her knowledge and enthusiasm. We were a small group (only five) and were able to ask lots of questions. I highly recommend this walking tour to really capture the essence of Florence!

Our tour guide, Antonella, was the BEST! Her knowledge and enthusiasm brought medieval and Renaissance Florentine culture, art, and architecture to life. We were only five people so had plenty of time to ask questions—tour was just the right length ending in the Academy in front of Michelangelo’s David. I’d highly recommend this tour.

Essential to understanding Florence is a tour like this with an experienced guide. Why is Florence here. How was it constructed? Who lived where, why? Why, how, where re the creation of David and other works of art. If you dont enjoy what is essentially a walking documentary this will be difficult. Florence was founded by the Romans so capturing all of it in a tour let alone a semester at the university is not possible. This tour is to provide the broad outline.
Our guide took us through and around the crowds leaving you with the feeling that the throngs of tourists are missing out on the real story.
