What a wonderful tour! The gorgeous Suzie was a great guide, super friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. She expertly guided us across the sea in what looked like challenging conditions at times, but we barely noticed thanks to her. Suzie also provided us with plenty of cold water throughout the day, and made sure we were all taken care of.
The vibes on the boat were very relaxed, with great music. This tour is an absolute must, every stop was stunning but especially Mljet National Park. I think we could have benefited from another hour there! At Mljet, we turned right at the bottom of the stairs instead of left and found some more secluded swimming areas, we then went back to the intended track and walked around the right side of the Big Lake to St Maria Island and took the little boat across (so cute!) and explored the island, then took the ferry back.
Tips:
- Apply more sunscreen than you think you need!
- Wear your swimsuit under your clothes
- Bring at least 1 towel
- Wear comfortable shoes, there is a decent amount of walking and stairs at Mljet (nothing too bad though)
- I also recommend bringing water shoes, particularly for Mljet and Odysseus Cave
- If you can, bring an underwater camera or phone case with you, especially for the caves! We did not, and I really wished we had, it was so magical
- Pack some snacks, lunch ends up feeling quite late in the day!
- There is a restaurant on St Maria Island, however Suzie does provide a lovely sandwich for lunch so I wouldn't bother. We did have an ice cream there though!
- It is a long day on the boat, be prepared for that
- Take cash for the Mljet fee, 25 euro per person (though cheaper if you are a student or have the Dubrovnik Pass. If you are in Dubrovnik for a few days or have plans to explore around it, it definitely seems worth it to get the Dubrovnik Pass which we unfortunately knew nothing about beforehand!)
