We had an awesome day at La Campesina organic coffee farm! Our kind driver, Guillermo, drove with immense skill and care for the 1+ hour drive over the mountains, around constant curves and speed bumps, never once did we feel carsick. Lisette, our fabulous bilingual guide, educated us on the way as to the ecosystems, flora and fauna, and what to expect on the farm. She even called ahead to inform them we are vegetarians, and the tasty organic meals (2!) reflected their desire to make the experience as perfect as possible. At the farm, Karen guided us through hands on experiences in each of the processes required to make 1st rate organic coffee. She even gave us an ‘exam’ at the end, rewarding each of us with a gift of their coffee! We learned about different beans, various roasting techniques and what to look for, different coffee preparation methods, even taught us the correct way to use a French press! She was passionate and well educated and her pride in their top quality product was evident and well deserved. The coffee was so delicious and pure, that no milk or sweeteners were even considered!
We would do it again, in a heartbeat!! Thank you for making this such a beautiful and memorable experience, surrounded by the stunning Andes and a bunch of loving and adorable dogs :)
