Colombia is one of the most advanced countries in latin america in reference to legal protection and equal rights for the LGBTQ community. Then is not surprising to find in Bogota hundreds (right, hundreds) of places for gay entertainment (from mild to wild). Together, I'll help you to locate around 30 places! Telling you tips about them. When we finish and you decide the one that suits you best, I'm taking you back to it so you can have a blast! This experience is packed with stories about the neighborhood, security tips and descriptions about the places we are going to spot. I know most of them because of my previous work at a gay rights related foundation. With this information you can choose the place that suits you to have fun with the locals Where to go? What to do? Where is safe? What NOT to do? I can reply those and a lot more questions on our way. We’ll start sharing stories about lourdes square. Then a couple of blocks ahead we’ll discover the colombian equivalent of the ABS, after that we’ll see a gay hotel nearby, later we’ll spot a few bars, a BH and we’ll finish at the largest gay disco in the world.

Juan gave a great tour of many of the gay places of interest in Bogota, which can be a bit hard to locate as they are pretty discrete. He showed us many inconspicuous doors and the important doorbells one needs to gain access. He also told us what we could expect to find inside the doors. He showed us around the various gay bars, which are much easier to locate and what kind of scene we'd find when we ventured it. I'd recommend his tour to avoid having to search for these somewhat hidden spots. There aren't many rainbow flags flying around Bogota, but he pointed out some subtle clues that can help the gay traveler find some welcoming places.

Juan is a perfect guy who is knowledgeable about the city and passionate about sharing the LGBT+ life in Bogotá. I think no one could know the whereabouts of all those cafes, saunas, theatres, bars, etc. as they are so discrete around the city. Also I never thought the tour would be that in-depth (in an excellent way) such that you can immediately start engaging with the vibrant gay activities right after the tour. Thank you Juan for the wonderful night.
