Escape the traffic of Bogotá and hike through lush Andean forests to visit two mighty cascades of water, El Chiflón and La Chorrera, Colombia’s tallest waterfall. Accompanied by an expert guide, drive through the East Hills and then trek through dense countryside to discover a wonderland of natural beauty. After your 3-hour hike of medium to high difficulty, tuck into a hearty traditional meal at a La Candelaria neighborhood. Pick up and drop-off from most hotels included.

    You will begin the tour at 8:00 am being picked up by a driver at your hotel.. Your travel time will be approximately 45 minutes to the southern part of the hills, on the road to Choachí. Accompanied by an experienced guide, you'll be dropped off in the countryside and hike through mountains surrounded by impressive natural scenery to discover the base of the first waterfall: El Chiflón. You'll have the opportunity to walk behind the waterfall to be involved within the magical mist - and if you're adventurous you can always take a swim at the waterfall's base. After that, you'll be able to regain your energy by eating a locally prepared snack.

  • Cascada La Chorrera, Choachi, Colombia
    Next, you will head out again through the forest, to reach the most important natural treasure of this splendid trip: La Chorrera Waterfall. Expect to reach the bottom of this 590 m (1935 ft) tall waterfall in roughly 1 hour. You'll pass creeks, a wide array of beautiful plants, and feel amazed by the sounds of nature surrounding you, including the splashing of the waterfall. When you arrive at the fall, you will have the opportunity to relax, enjoy the view and take some photos before going back.

  • Choachi, Choachi, Colombia
    You'll walk back to the car after about 3.5 hours. After a satisfying day out, you’ll return to the city, back to your hotel or preferred destination.

  • Depending on the season the waterfall will have more or less water flow.
  • Lunch is included only if the option is selected.
  • Minimum age is 12 years
You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.
  • For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

We recently went on Impulse Travel's hike to La Chorrera waterfall, and it was an incredible experience. Our guide was knowledgeable, and the views were breathtaking.
