    Last but not least, we will finally arrive at our 5th stop, The Zipaquira Salt Mine, called the First Wonder of Colombia. The Cathedral Salt Mine becomes one of the most important tourist destinations, it is a former salt mine that has been converted to a cathedral. You descend to the cathedral depths and you arrive to the great central dome where is possible to see the biggest cross underground, the greatest hall for the ceremonies of the cathedral and a nice boulevard. Besides, you might see the other atracctions such Cathedral Light Show, movie about the mine and the water mirror among others. You spend around 2 hours inside by your own. After we drive back to Bogota for over one hour driving and I'll drop you off in your hotel. Por último llegaremos a la 5th parada: La Mina de Sal de Zipaquirá, la Primera Maravilla de Colombia. Es uno de los destinos turísticos más importantes, es una antigua mina de sal que ha sido convertida en catedral. 2 horas dentro y regresamos a Bogota.

The tour is interesting, the Cathedral of Salt is well worth seeing! But the lagoon has a heavy climb for children and the elderly and this is not placed here. Nor is it worth much, nothing too much. I did not like the guide that accompanied us, could have explained more about the places we passed. It would be more interesting to pass by the CASA Loca than the Lagoa de Guaravita. The Cathedral of Salt is a must.

I traveled with my 2 boys. Luis our guide and driver is very knowledgeable, not only regarding the region but Bogotá and Colombia. It’s a very well paced and planned tour. I’m happy the 2 main sites, lake Guatavita and Zipaquirá salt cathedral. But also had a very interesting history tour of the picturesque town of Guatavita and the Muisca indigenous people and of course the legend of El Dorado. Excellent value. Highly recommend Luis.
