I’ve wanted to visit the distillery since watching a documentary on its development from a derelict site to an amazing transformation to a state of the art distillery with a stunning glasshouse which houses the botanicals.
Our guide Luke was highly entertaining while being extremely knowledgable. The tour began with a G & T which was made like a piece of theatre and enjoyed in the mini theatre. We explored the buildings and learnt their history, explored the glasshouses, which are essentially a glass sculpture before learning about the 11 botanicals that once blended make the excellent BS gin. Smelling, tasting and handling the dried botanicals was a fun experience.
When the tour finished we enjoyed a light lunch in the bar
The tour is highly recommended for enhancing the knowledge of gin enthusiasts
