Have always wanted to do this. Steffen was an excellent guide with loads of information. But you should send out better information on finding the place. We had to ask on our ship for help so we would find it on time since we were only in port for a short time. We had no idea it was so far from port. Thank goodness the guest services on Holland America let us know we needed to take a shuttle to town, and how to find it once in town.

The most memorable part of the Beacon Hill horse-drawn carriage ride in Victoria, B.C., Canada, was undoubtedly the enchanting atmosphere created by the soft glow of the streetlamps and the quiet clip-clop of the horse hooves echoing through the serene night. Although it was challenging to see the finer details of Beacon Hill Park due to the darkness, the experience was imbued with a sense of peace and romance that made it truly unforgettable. The gentle swaying of the carriage and the sound of the horse provided a soothing rhythm that allowed us to slow down and appreciate the beauty of the moment. The park, shrouded in shadows, took on an almost magical quality, with the occasional silhouette of a tree or the faint outline of a winding path adding to the mystery and charm. The cool evening air, mixed with the earthy scent of the park, heightened our senses, making the experience all the more vivid. Despite the limited visibility, the ride was filled with anticipation and a sense of adventure, as each turn of the carriage revealed new, albeit dimly lit, scenes. In the end, it wasn't about seeing every detail of Beacon Hill Park and its neighborhoods; it was about the unique ambiance and the shared experience of exploring it in a way that felt almost timeless. The combination of the historical carriage, the gentle horse, and the quiet night created a memory that stands out not for what was seen, but for the feelings it evoked and the intimate connection it fostered with the park and each other.
