The Kootenay Half Day Trip offers our guests a family friendly, fun, and scenic adventure down the beautiful Kootenay River. With aqua blue water, never ending mountain sky lines and memories to last a lifetime. This trip is perfect for those new to whitewater rafting, or those who want to experience the water, but not big whitewater. With fun class I-III rapids this trip is beautiful and exciting all in one. Here at Kootenay River Runners we are all about having fun, but we equally focus on safety and quality. Our guides are trained thoroughly and certified in swift water rescue and wilderness first aid. They get to know the rivers inside and out so they can provide you with an experience you will be talking about for years to come. Our gear is updated regularly, not only for safety, but for the comfort of our guests too!

  • Minimum numbers apply. There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there are not enough passengers to meet requirements. In the event of this occurring, you will be offered an alternative or full refund.
  • Do not bring jewelry, valuables, or cameras (unless waterproof).
You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.
  • For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

Went on the 11-6 pm adventure. Friendly and knowledgeable staff! Excellent bus driver! Fantastic and entertaining guide (Tyler). Delicious lunch! Fun family rafting experience. Modest white water suitable for everyone. Great if you are looking for a leisurely experience. The complimentary photos were a nice perk too!

We actually did the Full Day option and it was fantastic. Our guide, Zach, was fantastic. It was just enough rapids to be exciting and also allow you to enjoy the scenery and have some water fun. We stopped a few times which was nice and the food on the breaks were included and good. Our group of 10 really enjoyed the day. Would recommend taking your family.

We had a great time with Quentin as our guide on the raft! He was enthusiastic, fun, and made a great effort to talk to all the members of our raft. It did not take long for him to memorize our names. Shoreline snack was a nice surprise. We were picturing a granola bar and a juice box but got coffee, hot chocolate, cinnamon buns, crackers, cheese, and meat. The bus ride was a little rough, but understandable. Great service and response from the office on all our requests.
