Throughout our history, the Bronx Zoo has been an urban oasis, a place for New Yorkers and visitors from around the globe to escape the concrete jungle and experience the awe and beauty of animals and the natural world.
This spring, your family can explore the all-new Animal Chronicles, a walking trail of more than a quarter mile, featuring immersive eco-sculptures that showcase key achievements in the Bronx Zoo’s history of saving animal species and connecting New Yorkers to wildlife.
We are committed to providing safe and healthy experiences for our community. Changes to exhibits and park operations will happen. We will provide advance notice, when possible, but adjustments may also be due to unforeseen conditions.
Thank you for understanding if some exhibits/animals are not available on the day you choose to visit.

We spent a morning at the Bronx Zoo unfortunately it was a very underwhelming experience. There appeared to be few animals in each enclosure and those we did see looked very sad. Animals that should have had more company or be in groups sadly were not
One highlight was the reptiles and snake enclosures with this group being very comfortable
The only gorilla we saw appeared very lonely in an unnatural environment
All in all we felt this was a very over rated experience
Anyone planning this should know on a Wednesday tickets are at a reduced cost

So, unfortunately I am not willing to drive over 100 miles just to be turned away if the GWB is jammed and delays me more than one hour, one minute. That would potentially ruin my granddaughter's trip, and waste time, money and gas. Too bad. But on the bright side there are many other zoos and such far away from the cesspool known as NYC. So I will just spend my 500-600 dollars someplace that actually seems to appreciate my business. NYC seems to think they are doing us a favor by allowing us to spend our hard earned there. So you keep you "favors", and I will give my monies to a more deserving city, and state.
