The tour guide gave us not only the life under communism, but also a lot of history of Budapest. Through her own experiences we gained a lot of perspective of life under communism and for our teen kids, it brought to life a side of history that they have only studied about in school.

The Free Communism Walking Tour was a highlight of our time in Budapest - which is saying a lot, as Budapest is an incredible city with so much to see and learn! Agnes was an engaging guide and her stories are poignant as she lived through the communist (goulash) era in Hungary. She paints a portrait of the good and bad of communism, the government and current situation in Hungary, and the unquestionable importance of freedom. We very much enjoyed every minute of the tour and recommend it to travelers who are curious to learn more about the red history of Budapest.

Agi's tour on how is was to grow up in Budapest during the communist era is a must-follow. I learned a lot from her. Big plus : she finds spots for the group to sit down while she gives explanations :-)
