We had a lovely time on our tour of Szentendre, our guide Balázs was very informative and it was clear he was passionate about the village and its history. We enjoyed taking the train as this is not something we would usually do. We especially enjoyed our traditional Hungarian food (Lángos) and tea it was really nice to have something authentic and traditional. Although we visited in early February there was still shops and museums open and selling things that have been made in the village. We really enjoyed our tour and would recommend this to anyone visiting Budapest.

The drive to the village isn't very exciting, as the landscape is flat. The village is very small. We were taken to the museum where we saw things dating back to our childhood days then to the mazipan museum which was well displayed with gorgeous figurines in mazipan. We had lunch at Barzy Fugardo which was delcious. The roads are cobbled and a lot of the places had closed down from Covid period. The shops are touristic but the coffee shop with cakes delicious

The Tour Guide was terrific. Rudy was chatty, knowledgeable, kind, self effacing, and professional. It was billed as a UNESCO tour but the only part that was UNESCO was the central part (now a cigarette filled drain) of the long street and an old church was inexplicably closed to tourists. And we had to ask which was part was UNESCO. I would give it a higher rating except all 10 of us on the tour bailed because it was too cold and foggy. This included the Bulgarians and the French.
