We had an absolutely wonderful trip to Szentendre with our guide, Rudy. He gave us a great history lesson while also explaining current political issues. The town itself was lovely, and Rudy’s recommendations for shopping and were just perfect. While you can take the train from Budapest on your own, having a guide for this half day trip made it so worthwhile.

I've traveled many countries and have procured the services of many guides. Rudi is by far the best tour guide I've ever had. His historic knowledge is beyond expectations and keeps you engaged the whole time. If you take this tour, get on his tour. You'll not regret it.

Coming to the artist village of Szentendre near Budapest was one of the highlights of our trip. On a very hot day, we had a demonstration of making goulash and then enjoyed goulash lunch. The artwork, food places and even a Christmas shop. I brought a Hungarian wooden puzzle box, the artist carved a name on it in front of me. Highly recommended.
