Four of us spent a full day in Buenos Aires with Flor and her great driver. We felt we got a view of the city through the eyes of a local who knows and loves it well. We visited the city highlights but also places that came up in our conversation: the Calatrava-designed bridge for me, an off the beaten track empanada place for lunch, and a delicious ice cream store to close out the day. Flor adjusted the schedule so that one of our group could attend to a family emergency in the morning and join us later without eliminating anything from the itinerary. I know it is Flor's job to show us the city, but she and her driver did it with such enthusiasm and joy that we felt as if really knowledgeable old friends were showing us their much loved home. I only wish all tour guides could be as good.
